How to take measurment of long skirt

How to take measurement long skirt

To measure a long skirt, you'll need a flexible measuring tape. Follow these steps:

1. Waist Measurement: Wrap the measuring tape around your natural waist, where you usually wear your skirts. Make sure the tape is snug but not too tight, and keep it parallel to the ground.

2. Hip Measurement: Measure the fullest part of your hips, usually around 7-9 inches below your waist. Again, keep the tape parallel to the ground and don't pull it too tight.

3. Length Measurement: Decide where you want the skirt to fall (ankle-length, mid-calf, etc.). Measure from your natural waist down to that point while standing straight.

4. Sweep or Hem Measurement: If the skirt has a wider hem, measure the circumference at the bottom edge. This is especially important if the skirt is flared or pleated.

5. Waistband or Rise Measurement (for high-waisted skirts): If the skirt is high-waisted, measure from the crotch seam of your pants to the desired waistband placement.

Remember to note down these measurements accurately, as they will help you find the right size when shopping for skirts online or when making one yourself.
